IONAD TEAGHLAIGH.

Coiste Gaeloideachais Chromghlinne established (2011) has been supporting he burgeoning Irish language community in the village of Crumlin on the shores of Lough Neagh in south County Antrim. With successful and popular Irish language nursery and primary schools, Crumlin is typical of many areas which are now witnessing the growth of the Irish language as the bond which links local families to their wider community. CGC opened a purpose built family centre (Ionad Teaghlaigh Ghleann Darach) in May 2015 which serves the entire south Antrim area. This year saw the continued success of the family centre providing a range of Irish language classes with dance and music classes proving popular with almost one hundred and ninety local people attending their weekly programme. The group, most of whom are volunteers, have become central and have taken the lead in organising a couple of successful family events throughout the year for the wider community.
