– AG TREISIÚ LE TÓGÁIL NA GAEILGE
An Ciste Infheistíochta Gaeilge (An Ciste) is a capital development fund.
Ciste Infheistíochta na Gaeilge, (An Ciste) The Irish Language
Community Investment Fund, was established in 2010 following the
Hillsborough Negotiations. Their function was to assist the development
of Irish Language communities; in particular, the Fund’s role was to help
advance major capital infrastructural projects that would ultimately assist
the social, economic and cultural needs of Irish Language communities.
An Ciste Infheistíochta Gaeilge, since 2010, has played a central role,
alongside a range of public sector bodies, in addressing the needs of a
rapidly growing Irish speaking sector. Their contribution to date has been
critical in the provision of numerous and diverse Community Capital
Investments. Indeed An Ciste’s success has been further acknowledged
with additional Phase 2 funding secured as part of New Decade New
Approach Agreement in January 2020.
