CULTÚRLANN MAC ADAIM Ó FIAICH.
At the end of 2017 the Cultúrlann was put on the Open Market for sale by their long term landlords. To make certain that this iconic facility remained in the ownership of the Irish Language community, Ciste with the Department for Communities between them providing £625,000 of funding on a 50:50 basis to the Board of An Chultúrlann for the purchase of the facility. In 2012 to fully complement the recently opened massive extension, it was decided that in order to avoid “the old looking at the new,” further refurbishment works were required. This popular iconic Irish language facility has more than five hundred per week registered for their diverse educational and cultural programme. On average it could have upwards to two thousand regular visitors on a weekly basis visiting its restaurant, bookshop or art exhibitions.
